Zojirushi Water Boilers

zojirushi water boilers

Introduction

Zojirushi Electric Hybrid Water Boiler and Warmers are hands down some of the best boilers on the market. Zojirushi is an established Japanese cookware brand with excellent reviews across a wide variety of products spanning several appliances over many years.

Today, we’re going to focus on their hot water boilers and dispensers. An electric water boiler, unlike an electric kettle, is designed to keep a large capacity of water warm at your desired temperature for several hours. It offers instant hot water for coffee, tea, oatmeal, noodles and more.

As we wrote in our Tiger vs Zojirushi comparison, we’re big fans of them and wonder how we got by with just a kettle. Don’t get me wrong, kettles certainly have their uses but it’s about using the right tool for the job so we actually have one of each – a water boiler and a kettle.

Zojirushi Water Boiler Comparison

These are all great electric water boiler and warmers and you really can’t go wrong with either model. They all have excellent reviews on Amazon, are all made by a well respected brand, and all have excellent features.

However, there are a few differences that we’ve pointed out in the table below that you should be aware of.

[table id=3 /]

Confused? Yeah, so were we. All Zojirushi models have similar cryptic sounding names, features, capacities and designs, which makes it somewhat difficult to figure out which model to go with. Here is what you need to know to decide which model is best for you:

Capacity

Start here. You can see the number of fluid ounces that each model comes with: 3 Liters, 4 liters, or 5 Liters. Generally speaking, 4 liters should be more than enough for you and your family and guests to enjoy hot water for the entire day.

If you only need a few cups, you can go with the smaller 3 Liter model or conversely go with the 5 Liter model for commercial use and/or social gatherings. There’s a large Zojirushi Micom CD-LTC50 model not pictured above and we reviewed a KWS Commercial Water boiler as well if you need more capacity than that.

Design

Again, they’re all similarly designed in either stainless steel brown, silver, or white. There’s an easy to clean non stick interior.

It also comes with a one-touch dispensing system and has descaling and dechlorination modes for cleaning.

The Zojirushi water boilers are equipped with an easy to use digital LED display that displays the current water temperature and allows you to program it easily as well.

Features

Speaking of temperature, the Zojirushi comes with multiple computerized temperature settings – 160⁰F, 175⁰F, 195⁰F and 205⁰F; perfect for making a wide variety of teas such as green, white, yellow, oolong, or black.

Keep Warm: You can program the device to warm your water at a later time for up to 6 hours, helping you save energy in the meantime.

Auto Shut Off: with its LED display and it’s equipped with an auto shut off feature for safety as well as notifications for when boiling is complete or when water levels get too low.

Heating and Keep Warm: Though a water boiler is not going to initially heat up your water as fast as an electric kettle, again, it’ll generally only take about 10 minutes for initial heating and more importantly it will keep the water at your desired temperature all day.

One of the distinguishing features of the Zojirushi water warmer is it’s Quick temp mode. Basically, this allows you to heat the water directly to your desired temperature setting without having to first reach the boiling temperature. This significantly reduces heating time as this water boiler is the most energy efficient amongst its competitors.

Additional Features:

  • -360 rotating swivel base
  • -Café drip mode available on all models
  • -Magnetic detachable power cord
  • -Removable lid
